Ticket office and bookshop close at 06:00 p.m.

On Mondays the Museum is closed

For school viewings the Museum is open from 08:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m.

Groups and schools must book their visit in advance. Send an email to the address or call the number 043191035.

Free admission for youngs who are either under 18, University teachers and students in Architecture, Conservation of the Cultural Patrimony, Pedagogical Courses, ICOM members, Journalists with card, Handicapped citizens of the European Union and a caregiver, students (european citizens) and teacher-escorts (european citizens) by delivering a detailed list of the partecipants on headedpaper.

The Museum has a little place for the storage of bulky backpacks and bags that can’t be introduced in the exhibition rooms. The Museum declines all responsibility for damage or theft.



Taking photos without flash is allowed. It’s not possible to bring supports as tripods, easels… Shootings must be of a general nature and intended for the personal use of the visitor. If the user requests the use of flash and other photographic equipment or the filming has a professional nature, it’s necessary to obtain prior authorization from the “Ministero dei Beni e della Attività Culturali e del Turismo”. It consists of a form to be delivered with a minimum of 15 days in advance  (for information contact; 0431-91035).



  • Packed lunch is forbidden either inside the Museum or in the garden

  • Bicycles can’t be introduced

  • Only small dogs can enter in the Museum inside suitable walking bags or guide dogs for people with disabilities

  • Dogs of all sizes are allowed along the paths and under the arcades of the Museum’s garden, accompanied by the owner
